It was our time to meet and become friends and so we did...now it's about learning, teaching and supporting each other through our friendship,untill we meet our purpose in each other's life. Also, you are not alone, I think we all share similar experiences when in comes to relationships in our wonderful queer world.But as mentioned earlier you are one powerful person. becareful with the choice of words you use when talking about ex's because it doesn't matter how they are as a person, it also reflects how you are as a person. In reality relationships and issues that surface from them are not so much are reflection of the other individual as they are of you and your inner struggleswe can call them every horrible/degrating word in every dictionary but in the end it's our choice to be with them and put up with the crap they put us through.
